NGK Bougies
We stock two standard heat ranges: 7 and 8.
For power outputs up to 500-550 HP, Grade 7 typically performs well, although the gap should be adjusted to 0.7mm.
Above that range, we almost always switch to Grade 8 spark plugs with a gap of 0.8-0.7mm."
Maximizing the gap is desirable to ensure optimal ignition, but this can be hindered by pressure (boost). Hence, it's usually necessary to adjust the gap tighter.
Please note: It's crucial not to use too hot of a spark plug, as it can become a source of detonation due to its inability to dissipate heat effectively. Conversely, a spark plug that's too cold may not reach operating temperature, preventing it from self-cleaning effectively.
If you own an A45 AMG, we recommend the SILZKFR8D7S spark plugs, especially if it's tuned.
For vehicles like the Nissan CA18DET, RB20DET, RB25DET, RB26DETT, Toyota 1JZGTE (VVTi), 2JZGTE (VVTi), 3SGE, 3SGTE, 2ZZ, 4AGE, etc., we suggest BCPR7ES for mild upgrades and BCR8ES for high boost, ethanol, aggressive camshafts, etc. The BKR8E-11 is a good alternative but requires a minimum gap of 0.8-0.7mm. If you experience blow-out, reduce the gap to 0.6-0.7mm.
For Mitsubishi EVO 4g63, we recommend BR8ES spark plugs.
And for Subaru EJ25 engines, ILFR7B spark plugs are recommended.
